We respect the work of designers. This page explains how inspiration images appear in Variotype, how to get your work removed, and how to send us a copyright notice.
Inspiration images
Inspiration shots come from public search results. Each one is credited to its designer and links to the original. They stay the property of their creators and aren’t licensed to Variotype users.
- Shots are shown to guide a design, not to be reused. We don’t offer downloads.
- When someone uses a shot, our AI takes general traits like colors, type and layout patterns, then designs something new. It isn’t asked to copy artwork, logos or content.
- We don’t keep shot images after a search, and we don’t use them to train AI models.
Remove your work
If a shot of yours appears in Variotype and you’d rather it didn’t, email [email protected] with a link to the original. We’ll remove it and block it from future results. You don’t need to send a formal notice.
Anyone using Variotype can also report a shot from its preview. Reported shots disappear from that person’s results right away while we review them.
Copyright notices
If you believe content on Variotype infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright agent with:
- Your name and contact details
- The work you believe is infringed
- Where the content appears on Variotype (a link or screenshot)
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you’re the owner or authorized to act for them
- Your physical or electronic signature

Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, reply to the removal email with a counter-notice. We’ll review it and, where the law allows, restore the content.
Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly upload or share infringing content.
Designs made with Variotype
You’re responsible for how you use what you make. We can’t guarantee a generated design is free of third-party rights, so check before you ship. See our Terms of Service for details.
